Mecklenburg Lake District

The Mecklenburg Lake District area is the largest of all interconnected Lake Districts in Germany. Its pristine picturesque view lay between Berlin, Germany’s bustling capital city, and the Baltic Sea. Mecklenburg Lake District area is comprised of 1000 or more various size lakes. The Mueritz, meaning “small sea”, is the largest of all the lakes.
The interconnected waterways are so calm, and tranquil, boats routinely move, carry people from Berlin or Hamburg through the majestic landscape, to the very heart of Mecklenburg. Prudent people simply let their car stay parked, rent a boat and simply cruise through the Lake District.

For those who choose to be more adventurous, the Mecklenburg trails offers the exercise enthusiasts biking, hiking and trekking. And for the sports person and nature lover, the trails offer fishing, birds singing, and crickets chirping. Attentive tourists will observe a huge variety of local birds, like stork, common heron, crane, cormorant or if they are especially lucky a fish- or sea eagle. Visitors may also choose the unique experience of driving through Mueritz National Park and the nearby Lake District of Feldberg.

Visitors often explore the old world architectural design of the Mecklenburg Lake District. Routinely, they visit historical buildings, stately old churches, manors and castles, while, sightseeing in the small villages and towns through-out the Mecklenburg Lake District.

The Mecklenburg Lake District offers visitors sumptuous cuisine, a variety of indigenous ales, hotels, guesthouses, campsites, and yes, even hostels for the globe trekking young at heart.

Guided canoe tour (10 people and up)
From our base, we will start things off on the water, in order to explore the small lake plateau with the Canadier boats. On our way, we will float past the nesting place for herons and great crested grebes, and we will also see kingfishers and grass snakes. We always have enough time to unhurriedly explore the lake, and to also take a swim. The self made sandwich also tastes twice as good under the open sky. We will then continue through picturesque channels to our destination.

The tour goes through Dierberg, Heinrichsdorf, Köpernitz, Beerenbusch, Zechlinerhütte, Kagar, Linow, Zühlen, Braunsberg, Schwanow, Zippelsförde, Kramnitzmühle and back to Dierberg.
The trip lasts about 4 hours and goes through the most beautiful forests in Northbrandenburg on paths which are still in their natural state.

Together around the Small Sea
(for about 15 People, but a smaller group is also possible. Includes a one night stay in a 4-star conference hotel on the Müritz)

After a salutatory drink, a grill arrangement awaits you, as well as an amazing view of the Müritz. On the following morning, you will climb onto one of our bicycles, which have been especially equiped for you. With your group you will cycle about 35km along the Müritz, and amazing views of Mecklenburg's Small Sea will await you again and again. Our special maps will show you the way if you are traveling without a tour guide. Later in the afternoon, you will be spoiled by a 3 course meal along the water front.
Afterwards there will still be time to visit the Aviational Museum, located on the South Müritz. Later you will climb aboard a ship which will take you and your team back to the starting point.

City tour through the historical city center, ceramics tour through the workshop of Carsten's Ceramics, a tour of the castle gardens, lunch at the cellar of Rheinsberg's city hall, castle tour with an inspection of the Tucholsky Literature Museum and a boat tour along the Rheinsberg lake chain with a coffee break on board.
