Not only members of the ATS attended this conference but also regional tourism professionals and students of the universities in Rostock, Greifswald and Stralsund. Within the scope of the Tourism College on 27th October 2009 some of the ATS members gave lectures on topics of the tourism in the USA. 150 students participated in this event, which was held at the university of Rostock.
On 28th October 2009 the first German-American climate forest was planted in Schuenhagen. This project was realized by the NGO Tourism Cares. Threehundred young precious leaf trees were dibbled by members of ATS, regional tourism professionals and students. Hence the annual meeting of ATS was held CO2 neutrally.
In connection with the two-day conference the members of ATS got to know Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on a unique sightseeing tour. Tour stations were the hanseatic city Rostock, the state catipal Schwerin, the castles in Ulrichshusen and Ivenack as well as the farm hous in Guetzkow. The tour ended in Berlin.
